Electrical energy is stored in the battery each day, and some of that energy is used to operate the light at night. We @ARRS configure your system so that the battery will operate the light for 3 nights without charging. This means that, even after a series of cloudy days, there will be plenty energy in the battery to power the light each night. Also, please note that the solar panel WILL continue to charge the battery (although at a reduced rate) even when it is cloudy.
No. All our solar lighting solutions are equipped with a controller unit that would automatically turn on / off the lights. This is because the solar controller utilizes an internal timer that is pre-set for a specific number of hours to determine when to switch the light off. If the solar controller is set to leave the light on until dawn, it determines when the sun rise (and when to switch the light off) by means of voltage readings from the solar panel array.
The answer to this question is in two parts, namely:
The number of hours that you expect from your lighting system is dependent on the following factors;
Location
Battery storage capacity. Higher the storage more would be the cost
Intensity of light available
The solar lighting solution that ARRS typically provides is configured to provide lighting all night.
We can also design and configure your lighting needs using either peak lighting all night or using a combination of peak and off-peak light levels to manage energy and costs more efficiently. Alternatively please feel free to reach out (make this hyper linked to contact us page) to your ARRS representative for your custom lighting requirements.
To be honest there is no regular maintenance schedule that is required for a solar lighting system. Having said that it is advisable to keep the solar panels cleans, especially in a dusty climate. Also, post the warrant period ARRS also provides Annual Maintenance services.
The Solar panels in most cases require no maintenance at all and some dirt depreciation is assumed in our energy calculations. Please note that some maintenance or a heavy dirt depreciation factor may be required for a project site with no rain for extended periods (3-6 months).
The ARRS Solar solution is designed to be completely autonomous and operate independent of the electric grid. With multiple layers of protection, you can depend on ARRS lighting solutions to keep providing you with bright, white light, even during power outages.
There will be a reduction in the electricity bill over a period of time and not immediately post installation. The advantage of installing solar lighting solutions is:
There are several factors that go into finding the right battery type, namely:
Price:A battery with a low price is always attractive, but if low price comes at the expense of quality and battery life, the need for frequent battery replacements could boost the cost over time. That's why it's important to consider issues other than price when making the decision.
Capacity: Battery capacity is important because it's a measure of the amount of energy stored in the battery.
Voltage: The battery bank voltage must be considered to ensure it matches the system requirements. The battery bank voltage is often determined by the inverter specifications if installing a DC-to-AC system or by the voltage of the loads in a DC system.
Cycle Life: The most critical consideration is cycle life, which provides the number of discharge/charge cycles the battery can provide before capacity drops to a specified percentage of rated capacity. Batteries from different manufacturers may have the same capacity and energy content and be similar in weight. But design, materials, process and quality influence how long the battery will cycle.
Differentiating between price point and cost is paramount.
Typically batteries provided by ARRS are VRLA or Dry cell batteries that would be sufficient to cater to your electricity storage needs.
For Commercial applications, the Govt of India provides accelerated depreciation deduction of upto 80%.With regards to other benefits and incentives, it depends on where you live.
